Balance Solution

Balance is a skill we learn as babies learning to walk. At first we are unstable and fall a lot. As each of the hundreds of sensitive muscles in our feet, legs and back learn their specific roles in keeping us upright we become accomplished toddlers, walkers then runners. As we age, or through injury, we may lose some of these hard won skills.

Traditional exercise equipment, like the Balance Board and Bosu Ball, are excellent training when you have a healthy body, but are not able to solve balance problems because their movement is so strong and fast they are assaulting to a system that is the already overwhelmed and shut down.

The Harwin Balancer by contrast uses a very subtle, and gentle movement to gently communicate with these intelligent small muscles and help us to begin to walk with more confidence once again.

“I am 62 years old, and I have fallen at least 10 times in the last 4 years. Now that I am using The Harwin Balancer, I feel less dizzy and more stable, and I am enjoying taking walks for the first time in years.”

“The Harwin Balancer allows us the rare and precious opportunity to return to our initial intelligence with gravity that we first experienced when learning to walk.”
—SukiMunsell, Ph.D, founder of Dynamic Walking, San Anselmo, CA

“It feels like all the muscles in my legs have woken up, just like after I have been skiing all day.”
—Iris Maitland RN, PHN

“I am a 70-year-old man who has difficulty walking and keeping my balance because of a spinal condition called Scleroderma. One day I walked into St. Helena Hospital dragging my right foot as if I had just had a stroke. This was the first time I had used The Harwin Balancer™ and I had to grip the rails because my balance was so bad. Within 3 minutes it became easy for me to balance and I could relax my grip. After ten minutes I stepped off the Balancer and to the amazement of everyone, my walk had become normal. I call it the Miracle Machine.”
—Bill Agee, Saint Helena, CA

“I felt my calf muscle wake up for the 1st time in ten years since it’s nerve was damaged in surgery. My body immediately felt more balanced, and my walk became stronger.”
—David Newlin, Corte Madera, CA

The Harwin Balancer is an exercise machine that encourages the body to re-educate itself by activating the proprioceptive sensors in the body.

Proprioceptor: “A sensory end organ that provides information about the position of the body and its parts in space at a particular moment in time; proprioceptors are present in muscle, tendons and joint capsules, and include the muscle spindle and the Golgi tendon organ.”
